 Asian Koel or Koyal or Cuckoo Bird is common known as Koyal in India. It is famous for its singing "koo koo kouhoo..". Kids will imitate this koo sound when koyal is making this sound.

It commonly breeds in April to June summer time. So in summer we here a lot koyal sounds commonly in India.

In Indian Sanskrit language it is called as Kokila, Similar name is used by most of the local languages.

In Telugu Kokila - కోకిల, Tamil - ஆசியக் குயில், Kannada -, Malayalam -നാട്ടുകുയിൽ Hindi-कोयल , Marati- कोकीळ , Odiya - କୋଇଲି Pujabi - ਏਸ਼ੀਆਈ ਕੋਇਲ 

Bangla- কুলি .

Koyal is commonly known as brood parasite. Koyal lays eggs in the nests of other birds mostly in the nests of crows, myna, drongo birds.  Koyal mostly lays eggs in afternoon time when owner of nests is away. Usually male koyal will take care of moving owner of the nest away so that female does her job.
