In above picture painted storks are taking rest at Kaikondarahalli lake in Sarjapuru Road, Bangalore. They prefer to stay in fresh water lakes or rivers.  They were named after having a pink colored tertial feathers in back. They have very long beak.

We can easily identify a painted stork bird while flying by seeing its long beak and thin neck. From the above picture we can identify the painted stork flying.

Painted Storks resting on the banks of Kaveri river at Ranganathittu Bird Sanctuary.  They are residents of this sanctuary.

You can view the following video of Painted Storks chilling out , preening , fluttering on thee banks. They are residents of this sanctuary through out the year.
